After the notch trend of 2018, smartphone makers are now turning to hole-punch selfie cams and bigger screens. Here is what you can expect in smartphones in 2019.
Hole-punch cameras
Notches are an ugly necessity- the camera has to go somewhere. They, however, don’t have to be big intrusive bars. 2019 will see new hole-punch screens- which are literally small holes in the display via which the selfie camera pokes. Huawei has already declared two phones with a diminutive hole in the display, and Samsung as well, with its Galaxy A8s.
In-Display Fingerprint Sensors
While in-display fingerprint sensors are not exactly new, they are not mainstream yet. Most of these sensors are used in Vivo phones. Oppo and Xiaomi have joined Vivo on this trend with Find X and Mi 8 respectively. Regular fingerprint scanner works just fine, but in-display fingerprint scanner enables more space on the phone.
5G Connectivity
While having 5G support on smartphone trends is debatable, major companies are said to have plans to launch 5G supportable devices. Like for e.g., Samsung galaxy S10 is one of the smartphones expected to have 5G connectivity.
Foldable phones
It is one of the most futuristic design trend coming to mobile. Big brands such as Samsung and Huawei are still working on their foldable phones, while Royale Corp. has already launched its version FlexPai in November 2018. This will be helpful for those who carry a smartphone as well as tablets with them.
